Kyoto University offers a wide range of “Non-degree programs” for international students wishing to study or conduct research without seeking a degree. With extensive support systems in place to ensure a fulfilling experience, we welcome you to explore the options below and choose the program that best suits your goals and academic background.

• Exchange Students: A program that accepts students from partner institutions based on university-level exchange agreements.
• Research Students: A program designed for students to focus on specific research under the guidance of a faculty advisor. We highly recommend that international students spend six months to a year in this program to fully immerse themselves in their research.
• Short-term International Students: A program intended for temporary enrollment to study or conduct research for a short period.
